Distance Learning is a network that enables the schools and districts to communicate via two way interactive videoconferencing. With this network in place, students and educators now have the opportunity to experience an open window into curriculum and learning beyond the walls of their classroom.

Students can have interactive dialogues with authors, historians, scientists and museums. They will also be able to use the network to collaborate with other schools, as well as students in other parts of the world. Educators will have the ability to receive staff development without having to leave their district and administrators will be able to communicate with the county office without having to drive long distances. With Distance Learning Student can participate in various programs, talk to a NASA Astronaut on a mission to the International Space Station. Join a virtual tour of the Yellowstone Park or simply share a class resource with student halfway across the globe. Utilizing the Internet, Distance learning can bring the world to the class room as well as share the classes with the world. This interactive system allows both students and teacher to explore avenues only a long distance travel can accomplish.

• Videoconferencing Services:
  
  - Communication with "in the room" presence.
  - Easy dial-up connectivity between all participants stations throughout the EVC-DL Network.
  - Television quality image on TV, computer monitors, or projectors.
  - Fully sync video and audio.
  - Infrared (IR) pass-through facilitates remote control of cameras and other audio-video devices at both ends of the conference.
  - Service-on-Demand - no reservations required - simply connect to the other party.
  - Multi-point conferencing is available.
  - Interoperability with other video conferencing systems and platforms.
  
  Video and Television Programming Delivery:
  Any participant connection to the EVC-DL Network can easily be switched by the user/host to "broadcast mode" - thus converting the system from a duplex videophone to a downstream video "channel" which may be dialed by an unlimited number of users simultaneously.
  Any school may deliver live lecture, add pre-recorded programming or any other video or presentation material to the EVC-DL Network for access by others on a true "video-on-demand" or session basis.
  Users simply Logon to the desire session they want to participate or watch.
